ok, I don’t use Photoshop, but have been asked to replace a background layer with another image. Try as I might and search the help articles, I cannot get an answer. So, how is this done? Thanks in advance.

If it is indeed a layer just drag and drop the new image to the Layers palette just above the background layer. If you need to remove a background from an image check out the magic eraser which will let you erase one color while preserving adjacent colors.

I am just trying to change the image in the current background layer. How is this done?

Just copy and Paste the new image into a new layer (or drag and drop it). Size it correctly. In layers pallet, merge down onto the background layer.

This is a simple as I can make it.
