    i have this file someone wants me to put on the net for him. problem is that its a rm file which i dont have, but even if I did have it how could i then save it as avi or quicktime

    can i send it to someone who can convert it to avi for me? thanks

    Alternatively, you could check out these guides that will allow you to do it yourself.

    Cleaner will do this for you, so will a host of other compression programs.

    I am not sure if the free windows media encoder from Microsoft will accept rm files as input, but it is free and will compress to wmv.

    One thing that shocked me is that quicktime pro will open avi files and then let you recompress to quicktime…pretty cool. Maybe the windows media encoder will do the same (don’t have it on this machine, so can’t check for you.)
