real time playback
Posted by Alex Harding on October 8, 2009 at 7:54 amHi,
if you can feed premiere fast enough disks, can it handle real time uncompressed playback without rendering?
cheers

Premier can play realtime the list of formats you find when you open a Timeline
DVCPRO, DV, XDCAM (in MP4 wrapper not MOV), etc…siRoma di Marcello Mazzilli

You can also customize an uncompressed timeline.

October 14, 2009 at 8:30 pmwe have a san that can play 2 streams of uncompressed 2k footage simultaneously. what i really want is something that can play back dpx sequences in real time. we have a clipster that can do this, but its nightmare to actually use the timeline. final cut hates image sequences so i find it very annoying to use.
can premiere play back image sequences in real time or would i have to render some kind of avi / mov?
in fact i can’t even get it to import the dpx sequence, is this format supported?
also, if i configure the timeline to be uncompressed, should i select ‘desktop’? is it possible to have video monitoring in this mode?
thanks in advance, i am very appreciative of any help offered!
