    Hi,
I really like the direction Adobe is going in with the production suite. They’ve implemented some great things, and I’m sure they’ll keep improving all of their products…..I’ve waited a long time, for some type of adobe certified, native support for a capture card (we currently use the bluefish444, which has great quality, but some buggy drivers). I was excited to see the AJA Zena release, and I see a lot of mention in the adobe press releases for native support of this product. This is great….BUT, It seems this product is very basic, it seems to do what the bluefish, and decklink cards have been doing for years – Basic output and NTSC monitoring. My issue is this…To really be a high end edit system, Adobe needs the ability to do real time multilayer editing, with real time effects… Avid Adrenaline and other systems are doing this. Bluefish, and Matrox Axio are touting this and more. Why would adobe not partner with someone who is offering more real time effects than what it seems Zena HS is capable of at this point. I could be wrong and hope someone corrects me…Matrox axio seems to really offer more, but AJA seems to have gotten the nod from Adobe. I think this is more important than Direct DVD output etc (which I think is great don’t get me wrong…)

    Any thoughts
    I’d love to hear..

Axio is the king of multi-layer at the moment. If you have the right storage you can do many, many layers of video and graphics at 1080p, etc.

Are there any software issues with axio and premiere. With some other cards, I’ve seen sync problems with longer timelines?

The only “issue” is that Axio gets more amazing with every version!

Ken, stop that! I can’t justify the expense and you are making it difficult! 🙂

    Steven,
You can justify anything if you think about it long enough 😉

Well, I will be happy to discuss a sponsorship with Matrox if they would like to “loan” me a system. 🙂
