I’ve found out recently that my camera is giving off to much noise to utilize the audio from it. This is leading me to try a new setup.

My thoughts are this: recording the video using the Canon XL2 and the audio using a lav mic connected to the PC via a M-Audio interface.

My only issue I see here is the audio/video being out of sync due to them being recorded on different platforms.

Can Adobe capture in real time without recording to tape (IE: directly to the HDD) this way both the audio and video are created at once and hopefully not out of sync?

I would look at Adobe on Location, perfect for that.
