    Subject: Real-time blurry issue??

This seems like a simple problem…but i just don’t know how to solve it.

When i’m using graphics, they show up blurry, until i render them…or if I put enough effects on them them incapable of playing back in real-time.

In other words, when the clip has a “green” line (real-time) over it, it’s blurry…once i add enough junk to make it red (needs render) then it will give me a preview that is crisp.

So, I guess the question is….is there anyway to toggle the “real-time” playback so that I can preview my graphics crisp — for placement purposes — then toggle it back on when i’m done?

    hope this makes sense.

    thanks.

    Barry,

Ever heard the classic apple phrase. “it’s a feature, not a bug!” This is a classic example of a fix that only pleases a few people.

In version of FCP prioir to 4 when a graphic showed up it was “light green lined” and then it played back looking good with the RT engine on.

    HOWEVER

Some users complained that it looked “better” if it was rendered and that the FCP team should degrade the quality of the “light green lined” graphics so it would force them to be reminded to render that footage.

It has been fixxed in subsequent releases and an update should cure the problem.

    David

    I can’t believe it’s not butter!

    thanks David.

i thought this might be the case! Guess you can’t please everyone.

when you say that it’s been fixed in subsequent versions…are you saying that this “blurry” issue has been fixed? I’m currently using 5.04…which i beleive is the latest update.
