  • Real time, and multi layer functionality in the works

    Hi,
I use my workstation primarily as a compositing system, but I’m thinking of doing a lot more editing when I upgrade. I currently have a decklink extreme pro, and have used the multibridge extreme as well. One of my concerns about editing with these cards, is there is not a lot of real time or multi layer functionalitly. We sometimes get real time dissolves, but they still need to be rendered on output. The color correction also is very slow. I know there are systems out there (Avid, Matrox, etc) that are offereing up many layers of video, and titles, etc in real time. They also offere real time effects. I wonder is anything in the works for the decklink cards to make them more usefel in a real time editing fashion?

    Mike,

Decklink cards are capture cards, not hardware accelerator cards. The Avid and Matrox systems with all the realtime layesr and such are built around hardware accelerators, they are much more expensive than everyday capture cards.
