  • Reading timecode saved to the video file’s audio tracke

Posted by Austin Steele on November 15, 2016 at 9:30 pm

    Hi,

I had a 2 camera shoot with a separate audio recorder. The audio mixer ran timecode into the cameras (A7sii). He said the TC information would be saved on to the
audio track of the video footage.

Has anyone done this before? I tried to sync the cameras + audio by timecode and it was off. I was told I need to run the clips through a plug-in or some program so that the TC that was saved in the “audio track” can be read.

Can anyone make sense of this?

    Thanks.

Avid can read audio timecode. Premiere cannot.

    This product should help.

Note, if it’s from an A7, and the format is MXF, it might not work in the current state.
I’m working on an update (I’m the developer), and I have a beta version that can do an MXF – to MXF conversion.
    (Without transcoding.)
