Does anyone know of a way to deal with Avid MXF files other than shelling out for Automatic Duck? It sounds well worth the expense, but I don’t have the budget at the moment. I have a mid-priority project that would be made much easier if I could manage this somehow…

    Go to this link.

Except, I can’t get the driver to work. Can anyone explain why? I down-loaded and installed the driver but, I don’t get the P2 listing on the File-Import menu?

This tutorial is demonstrating the old way of importing P2 files before FCP 6 came out.

You can now go to File>Log and Transfer, click on the “add folder” icon in the top left-hand corner of the transfer window, navigate to the CONTENTS folder on your P2 card or drive and click “open”.

Then select the files you need and “Add Selection to the Queue” which will begin the transfer process that will convert the files to .mov and place them in your Capture scratch folder.
