    I think that really depends on your goals. Most people are content with pick-whipping, which doesn’t even require a book 🙂

    I’d say that a beginning JavaScript book would be a very good bet. Although most of those will probably be tailored to web development, you’ll learn the important elements of syntax and structure.

    From there I think it’s really just a matter of striving to understand how the AE specific functions work and brushing up on your math skills (which never hurts). At that point it might be a good time to turn to:
