Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Reading EDLs

I realize this is a fairly nonsensical request, but…
Does anyone know where to find some good information on how to read an EDL. Not import, export, whatever, but actually open one in a text editor and understand what it means.
I can make sense of an EDL from a single track sequence, but I just exported from a 2 track sequence and I’m struggling (failing) to understand the formatting. I’m working with a producer who likes to / has always used EDLs and Applescript to create text files for use as data sets in imageready, and stl files for importing subtitles into DVDSP. This is for a project in which every clip in the timeline will have its own unique subtitle. My producer is also having a hard time trying to understand the formatting.

Thanks in advance for any help with a strange request,
    Zak
