    Happy 2015.

I have a motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z77x-UP5TH) that only has 2 ‘actual’ sata 3 ports. (The 3rd, Marvell SATA 3 port, only gives me SATA 2 speeds).

I have my operating system on a Raptor.
I have 3 SSDs. 1 each for writing, reading and cache.

Which of the 3, writing, reading or cache, would you put on the slower sata port?

Thanks for any help with this you can offer and for all the help I’ve already received from reading this forum.

    James

    Cache drive must be fastest.

Reading footage requires taking in multiple video streams at once, whereas exporting finished media requires writing one video stream, the former should be on the faster disk/bus.

Thanks Todd! I will put my export/write drive on the slower SATA port.
