When I want to create a freeze frame I hit shift+h and it gives me the hold option for freezing (red) with two adjustment bars (green)on each side. Now it seems like whenever I want to stretch out my hold it has to compress the green bars on either side of it, messing up the timing either before or after the hold. Is there a way I can get just the hold re-timing tool and get rid of those bars on either side of the hold?

Unless you haven’t moved to the latest versions, option-F will create a freeze frame.

page 111 of the manual (sometimes a handy read 😉
