Dumb question: I have an interview, and over part of it I placed a photo. Then I decided to pull out the photo and place it elsewhere in the timeline. How do I re-stretch that interview video to cover the gap that was made by the photo. Each time I try it, it pulls everything later in the timeline out of sync. I know this must be FCP 101, but – that’s actually about where I’m at. ‘Only been using it a few months. Thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help! Truly, RB

Do you mean the time length?

    Use the Retiming option.

    Select the clip/image and Command + R.

Sometimes its cumbersome so I duplicate the clip and test it out of the primary timeline.

It would be best to choose the Position tool instead of the Arrow tool. Use the P shortcut or from the tools menu. With the position tool, you can drag the clip without moving other clips.

Thank you both for the good advice. I’m still working on that particular part (although I went on to other tasks, hoping I’d hear from ya’ll in the meantime). I will give both a try. ‘Again – ‘much appreciated. Truly, rb

    Hi Ricky!

Would you be willing to post a screenshot of your timeline with the photo in place?
