I am working with FCP6. I want to put 7 clips on the screen. I put one track on top of the other. I go to the motion tab, change the scale, position the clip with Image and Wireframe. I render the sequence but everything looks so pixelated. I used to to this all the time with no problems.

    Any thoughts???

    Thanks,
    Eileen

What format of footage are you working with and what are your Sequence Settings?

You’re never going to get 7 images on the screen all scaled down to look good with that codec. 5:1 compression will complete fall apart as you squeeze down the image and put all of those on screen.

Might want to try putting those clips into a ProRes sequence and see if that works any better. Still going to be a lot of interlacing artifacts when you squeeze it all down though. Also make sure your Sequence Settings have the Motion Effects set to Best Quality for the rendering.
