    Hi Guys,
I am wondering if there is a simple way using standard Final Cut Pro tools to create a “Skype” like effect?
What I mean by that is an occasional freeze frame, stutter, slow-mo etc…… needs to feel organic and some what random.

    All thoughts most appreciated.

    Cheers,

    J

Dude, we spend serious money trying to AVOID this “effect!” 🙂

Ha…….yes indeed Mark. None the less appropriate for this little short piece which is actually a picture in picture skype conversation that needs glitches.

    Thanks,

    J

    Hi J

I’m thinking you could spend a lot of effort trying to replicate this “Skype” effect .. or you could just send this section of video through Skype and record the output. Might be quicker easier and (importantly) more authentic by ding it that way.

Thank you for your reply Andy.
Yes this approach was considered however client specs HD HQ delivery so footage shot as such plus my Skype connection too good.

    Regards,

    Hi,
I’d rather use the “Bad TV” effect from Motion. It would probably be the best way to do it.
