I have some files that are compressed just right from a screen recording software. I just need to add a short intro title and a watermark over the video. The problem i’m running into is that I can’t seem to save that video from final cut pro without having to recompress it. I’ve tried a few times and I always get larger file sizes with worse quality. Even if I don’t edit the video at all.

Is there a way to make small adjustments to a compressed video without having to compress it all over again?

    Thanks,

What kind of files are you getting from the screen-capture software?
If you want to export something from FC without compressing again, you must set a sequence with the same codec and parameters than your footage. If there is any change, FC have to render to convert the clips to the new settins.
