    Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with my render files. I don’t know how to re-route or tell FCP where to put the FCP documents, like capture scratch, render files, etc. I have all my media, sequences and projects on an external drive, and I have that drive set as the scratch disk in System Setting. But for some reason all the render files are popping up on my laptop’s HD and its clogging up the system.

    Any Advice?

    Thank You!!!

    Jocelyn

Look under “System Settings” and look to see where the video render and audio render files are supposed to go, and adjust accordingly. You may also want to look into the waveform and thumbnail cache locations while you’re at it.
