I’m having big problems with track mattes in Premiere cs5. Around track 2 or 3 it works…but then I move it up to track 4 and it seems to work with but it makes my video near %50 transparent…..then, at higher tracks, it doesn’t work at all.
I’m using Prores footage, nesting and my mattes are animation codec.

    Anyone got any ideas?

So…the key source is a nested sequence, or a ProRes clip?

…or is the trasck matte inside the nest sequence and the issue shows up when that sequence is placed in a new sequence?

Have you tried a simple, static matte, just to see if the track matte behavior is consistent whether the key matte source is moving or still?

Are you using alpha or luma?

(…and you are, of course, re-targeting the matte video track in the effect when you move the matte, right?)

    Thanks so much for responding.

The only thing that is inside of the nest is 4 prores clips.
I’m using luma, and I’ve tried png (static) animation and prores codecs for that.

It’s crazy, I’ve just discovered that it stops working when the luma matte is on tracks 4, 5 and 6 but works again on 7. (i am retargeting yes)
    It’s doing this for a non-nest too.

    I’m appreciative for any thoughts.
