  • Re-Partition On-the-Fly – MAC OS X ? (To increase partition size)

Posted by Colleen Parquette on November 1, 2012 at 12:21 am

    Hello:

Running a dual boot MAC PRO Tower

    one side CS5 & FCP7 (OS 10.6.8)
other side is AVID MC6 (OS 10.7.5)

I want to install CS6 Prod. Pro on the Purple side. I want to increase the disc size of that partition.

Can I reallocated more hard drive on-the-fly (to the AVID boot) in the Disk Utility?

I also need to roll up to OS 10.8.2 – Should I do this before/after increasing the partition?

    Thank you for your input.

I would clone the original first. And, if needed, reformat the boot drive creating the partition sizes you need and then clone back to those resized partitions.

This is most likely too late for you but who knows.
