Hi—new to PremierePro. I’m a FCP7 and AVID user, and I’m doing my first project in PrPro.

Question, as I’m logging imported media.

I just imported a whole slew of folders and media.
If I change the names of the folders and media inside Premiere, will I make life difficult if I move the media to another drive and want to relink later on?

    Thanks very much,

    Dan

In CS6 you will have to re-link the media one by one.
it would also help if you tick the “display exact match” option on the dialog box when re linking so that you dont have to sift through the names, it will only display the name that matches the unlinked media you are searching for.

    Thanks, George.
    I’m in CC.
So, question: If I leave the file names the same but change the folders in Premiere Pro?

Note: I’ve got about 15 folders which contain approximately 150 media files.

It doesn’t matter if you change the clip/bin names in the Premiere project panel. It does matter if you rename the actual files. Don’t do that.
