    Hello,

I’ve just received my new Kona 2 with K Box and IO LA. I have some HDV footage which I have already captured to a firewire drive albeit downconverted to DV. I thought the whole project was to be shot on this format but at the last minute it was decided that they would shoot some on Beta SP.

What I want to know is if I now capture this via the LA will I have to render either the DV or the Beta footage depending on the timeline settings? I am used to using the Cinewave card which is good at the mixed res thing. Or would a good idea be to recapture the HDV footage analoguely via the LA?

    Thanks in advance

if your machine is fast enough you can Mix DV, uncompressed 8bit and 10bit on the same timeline and get a real time preiview (of course you’ll have to render when you edit to tape. All you gotta do is set your RT to Unlimited and the priview to dynamic).

if you mix HD formats you’ll run into some problems.
