I have a project which is complete, but all footage is offline (no longer on media drives). When I used Avid, it was simple to ‘Batch Import’ files, but with FCP I can’t figure out how to re-import and relink my timeline.

    Any ideas welcome.

All the footage is from the HVX-200? Then open a new project, reimport all the footage. Open the offline project and highlight all the clips in the browser and hit RECONNECT. It should find them. You will probably have to do the same with the timeline.

    What happened? Lose a drive?

Thanks Shane. No It’s an older project and the client wants a slight re-edit!!! My footage is from the SPX800. One thought is that my offlines have the .mov extension, whereas now I notice the extension is not there when I re-import.

Really? I still get the .mov when I import. FCP 5.1.2.

I’m on 5.1.4. I added the .mov to all clips in the log window and successfully re-built the time line.

    Many thanks for your reply.
