I tracked a headlamp on a CG car and need to add this Tracked info. to an Effects Control point and or through expression to the XY coordinates of a lensflare effects XY. Can anyone guide me to get this done correctly in AE?

    Thank you

Unless I’m not understanding you, you just need to Copy/Paste the Track Pont 1 Feature Center keyframes into the Lens Flare> Flare Center property (same layer), no expression needed.

Or, with expressions, you can Alt click the Flare Center stopwatch and pickwhip to the Feature Center of the aforementioned track), giving you this expression:

    motionTracker(“Tracker 1”)(“Track Point 1”).featureCenter

Then if you wanted to offset the flare a given distance from the trackpoint, you could add “value +” to you expression giving:

    value + motionTracker(“Tracker 1”)(“Track Point 1”).featureCenter

Oopps, after you add the value +, then drag the lens flare to the amount of offset you want, then the expressions will keep it the same offset distance.
