  • Re-Editing MV2 Files = Quality Loss?

    Hi there,

I exported a project to MV2 (for Blu Ray) but have had to make a few minor amemdments to it.

I was using a trial version of CS5 as the project contained MXF files that couldn’t be imported into CS4. The trial has now expired so the only version of the project I can currently access (am intending on upgrading shortly but have a deadline) is the exported MV2/Blu Ray version.

Will there be any loss in quality or problems if I re-edit an MV2 file then re-export it with the same settings to MV2?

    Thanks!

Any time you add another encoding pass to any video file, there is some degree of loss. Whether it is noticeable or not can depend on many factors. If the source file has a high data rate (good quality) and you re-encode high quality again then might look just fine.

Sounds like you have no other option though so just do it
