I edit on FCP and output QuickTime files. I have a client that has a Sony Vegas editing system and wants me to give them an avi file. I made an avi file using QT Pro. He was unable to use the file I made. Is there another file format I can make that he will be able to open in Sony Vegas?

    thanks,
    Roger

I’d suggest using Quicktime to produce a .mov using the the PhotoJPEG codec set to between 80-100% quality.

Or use MPEG Streamclip to make an AVI but use the PhotoJPEG compressor at 75%. He’ll think it’s a regular AVI and it will look good and be pretty small.
