    Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to create Arabic titles within AFX, FCP, Photoshop etc. I want to be able to get an Arabic translator to write them within the application in order for me to be able to animate them? I use both Mac and PC and would choose either platform depending on ease and cost.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried installing an Arabic font? A search will provide free options for most op systems – if your software supplier doesn’t offer arabic support direct as an add-on / download.

    Mike,

Yes I installed several fonts and switched the system to Arabic. On my Mac in Mail my Arabic translator can type normally in Arabic ie right to left, but in AE it works left to right and therefore is no good. Neither will it let me copy and paste the correct phrase from Mail into AE, so I’m still flummoxed!

This from the Adobe site ..
“Adobe® Photoshop® CS4 has the ability to edit existing Arabic text layers. For technical reasons, the functionality as it is in Photoshop CS4 can only be exposed if you already have an Arabic text layer created. If you would like to create Arabic text layers, you can start with this template that we have provided containing a single type layer from which you can edit (the type layer contains a font type that supports all languages). Please let us know if you encounter any issues.”

any idea if there is a similar template for After Effects CS4, or must one create Arabic text in PhotoShop and export files for use in AE?
