Ray-Traced 3D Layer Loses Depth in New Composition
I used “Ray-Traced 3D” to extrude a shape layer in an After Effects 6 project. When I pre-compose this layer and use it in another composition, it looks 3 dimensional but is actually flat when I try to rotate it, in this case, the Y axis. I’ve enabled different properties on the new composition including the “Collapse Transformation”, “3D Layer”, as well as tried changing the composition’s renderer to either “Classic 3D” or “Ray-Traced 3D.” Why will a new composition that contains a nested Ray-Traced 3D layer not hold onto its ability to be rotated with extruded depth?
