Raw file conversion specs – clarification request
Hello,
I received a conversion delivery spec sheet from a distributor for a feature film’s raw files (mostly mp4 and avi to quicktime MOV/ProRess 422 files). The video conversion process I have no issue with – I’m familiar with that. But at the bottom of the spec sheet is this:
“Full Quality Check report with no audio or visual problems with more than a 2+ rating done at a first tier lab approved by Distributor to be E-mailed prior to shipment of masters.”
I’m not exactly sure what this means… can someone explain this to me?
Also, there’s this request as well for the audio:
“All Feature Electronic Masters must have this audio layout:
5.1 L / 5.1 R / 5.1 C / 5.1 Lfe / 5.1 Ls / 5.1 Rs / Lt / Rt / M&E – L / M&E – R / Dialogue”What does that mean? Note that these are NOT my raw masters… I’m just converting provided files for a client so I really don’t want to manipulate the originals if I don’t have to.
Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn’t find one that really fit this issue…
Thanks!
