I work on both Avid and Final Cut systems, on Macs and Windows. No need to get into the which is better quagmire- they both work just fine. When a project gets to the “burn me a quick DVD” stage, there is a marvelous little mac program called Visual Hub (sadly no longer available) that converts pretty much any format into any other format. A wonderful feature it has is, when converting a QuickTime reference movie to MPEG, there is a Burn to DVD option, making this a quick one-step process. Great for quick approval copies. I am wondering if there is anything similar for Windows. I have been looking, and so far have come up empty.

virtual dub is free and you can get cool lil plugins for it. There is a stabilizer for it that is much better than Avid’s.
    kind of cool.

cool beans. looks ike just what i am looking for. thanks.
my problem is, here on site @ my client’s, there is a firewall blocking the download. i need to either dig up their i/t. person and see if they will let it through, or downlad at the home office and bring it in. methinks i will try plan b first.
