I’m working on some title sequences within Resolve. Basically I’ve got text overlaying black. Pretty simple stuff. I’m adding some effects to the text to simulate some 70s title plates – a bit of low amplitude camera shake to simulate plate registration shift, plus some lens distortion (thanks to prism blur) and glow.

As I can see it, the easiest way to achieve this is to grab a still of the text on screen; export a PNG; bring the PNG back in and replace the text effect with said PNG; apply the effects (copying to the other plates). It may be slightly easier to create my text plates in Photoshop.
It would be glorious if I could flatten the text to a still frame or image sequence from within Resolve, or better yet, add the effects to the live text. Can anyone share any hot tips for this? Running 14, if that helps.

Right click the title clip and convert to compound clip. Then you can add any effects you like.

    Hey Rohit.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Thanks for the solution, that’s greatly appreciated!
