I am not having any luck getting Resolve to work properly…
The one computer that actually was running Davinci for two days crashed somehow. I could not log in due to “an error”. Fun. I decided to make a clean install on that computer (it had a installation from 2008, I think something got messed up on the OS hard drive).

While I am reinstalling that computer I gave another macpro to my employee, so he could continue working. Well, it seems to work, but it is veeery slow and only plays back at 50% framerate and it shows that the GPU cannot handle the load (on the little metering bar next to the framerate display).

OK, this macpro is from this year, has a GTX 285 and a GT120. When I go to “About Davinci” it says that is using one GPU. Does that mean it is using the GTX 285 for rendering or does that mean it is using the GT120 for everything? Is there anywhere I can see what GPU Resolve is using for rendering? The footage is 1280×720 50p, ProRes HQ, one node. Should not be a problem for the GPU…

    CUDA drivers are 4.0.50

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hey Kent,

Can you capture your logs and send them to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com and if you could also include your Mac system profile that would be great also.

I’m sure we can help you out.

    Thanks,

    Dan

I have a dual quadro 4000 setup with a GT120 for graphics processing, and when I go to ‘About Davinci’ it says it has 2 gpus, so it sounds like your GTX is being seen.

If the same GPU is being used for display and image processing the system will give you an error popup when you start up.
