    Hey All,

I’m using Vegas 8.0 on Windows XPsp2, and I’m having a weird problem. I open up a clip in the trimmer, mark a bunch of ranges on the clip. I open up another clip in the trimmer, and then when I go back to the first clip all the ranges I created are gone?

Anyone have this happen to them?

Did you click the “Save Markers/Regions” icon before going to the other clip?

Gee, guess I should have tried that. 😉

Thanks for not makeing fun of me. I guess I assumed they would automatically be saved; seems like an extra step.

Anyway, I promise to read the manual a little bit closer next time.

Well, Clicking on save regions doesn’t work either. I click on the save button, and when I come back to the clip the regions are no longer there.

    Any other ideas?

I know we had this problem with MXF files from the XDCam HD clips. Sony finally fixed this in v8.0b. Although there is a ‘gottcha’ involved here. I upgraded to 8.0b and still had the problem. Sony support suggested a complete uninstall and reinstall of Vegas. Did that and sure enough all fixed an working ok. Might be worth trying the uninstal/reinstall route to see if you can get it to work. Don’t forget the ‘prefs’ save region markers thing though as on the reinstall it will be back to the default ‘unchecked’ state.

    Bingo!

I’m using XDcam HD clips. I will try the uninstall – install to see if it works. Thanks for the response!
