  • Range Select Speed Change Broken in 10.0.6???

Posted by Adam Helwig on November 2, 2012 at 6:45 pm

I’m trying to select a range of a clip to change the speed of a certain part of the clip, but when I do, it causes the whole clip to just freeze.

For example, I want to speed up the beginning of a clip to say 400% and have it ramp back to 100%. However, when I select the range I want and make the speed change, the whole clip just freezes, showing no playback at all. So, when I skim across the clip it’s just one constant frame as if I put a freeze frame on it.

I don’t understand what’s going on, is this happening for anyone else?

    Thanks for any help!

What sort of clip- and also post a screenshot of what your timeline looks like with the clip retimed.

I have been doing quite a bit of this over the last few days with 10.0.6 without issue.

I have been using source combinations of 1080p60, 1080i60, 720p120 being dropped into various timelines of 1080p30, 720p60 and 720p30. I have been using the range selection tool to change segments of the clips anywhere from 400% to 3% speeds.

If there are any specific cases you would like me to test I would be happy to give it a whirl.

Well, I got it fixed. Sure enough, after deleting the preference file, it fixed it. Weird little issue though. Glad it’s fixed. Thanks for the replies/help!

Hi! I’m having the exact same problem, which pref file did you deleted?

The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.
