I’d like to be able to randomly assign some clones in mograph one random material from several I create. Is there anyway to distribute multiple materials among a lot of clones in cinema 4d? Is there a way using Xpresso, mograph, the multishader, shader effector?

The easiest way to go about it is to create one copy of your cloned object per material, give each copy a unique material, and place all the copies under your cloner. Then assign the cloner a random effector and in the effector’s “Parameter” tab, turn the “Modify Clone” slider up to 100%. That randomizes the selection of clones. You can fine tune this by adjusting the effector’s Min/Max sliders (under the “Effector” tab).

I knew it was that simple, I tried to make it as difficult as possible, thanks.
