Hi I’m looking to create a grid of tiles with a number or letter on each tile (roughly 100 x 100). I’d like to ‘shuffle’ these tiles around on the xy axis at random (either moving them around without overlapping or else fading in on one location and reappearing in another). Any advice would be great.
    Thanks
    Joey

What comes to mind is a lot of keyframing, but what also comes to mind is the plugin from Red Giant, PlaneSpace. It just could be the best 100 bucks you ever spend on a plugin. It’s hard to describe the capabilities, but it is possible to set up your tiles, then run PlaneSpace, and have your tiles animate into new positions without any keyframes. The fading and non-overlapping would be something you’d have to figure out outside of PlaneSpace, but it deserves a look anyway:
