Hello! I am trying to animate a grid of rectangles, with each rectangle fading in and out randomly. I have tried using fractal noise with mosaic and use it as a luma mask but each square isn’t going from 0% to 100%, is there a way to achieve this or a different way to achieve this?

Thanks John, I have A LOT of shapes in the grid so looking for a solution that doesn’t make them all layers, which is why I’m using repeater

I think the fractal noise approach is probably best and if they are not disappearing completely, try using a Levels effect to deepen the blacks and brighten white areas.

this method allows you to use thousands of tiles without indipendent layers and the opacity goes fully from 0 and 100 and there is a perfect match between the mosaic and the shapes, hope that helps!
