Randomise Text Colours
Hi,
I’m looking to make a motion title template in either motion 3 or motion x where each of the individual text characters are random colours.
I’ve tried putting a randomise parameter on the face property of the text, but that will only affect the whole word, not the individual characters.
By selecting each letter I can apply a different colour separately, and then set a randomise parameter to each resulting style, but I’m not sure that will translate when I have titles of varying lengths.
Does anyone know another way to achieve this?

If anyone else has this problem, Mark Spencer tweeted this to me:
“use sequence text behavior, crank up loops and variance (variance in 4, X not 3)”

Another thing that works (if you want it to animate).
-Apply a sequence text behavior.
– Add the Face color for the text.
-Apply a Randomize parameter behavior to the Face color in the Sequence Text behavior.
-Set the following:
Sequencing: Custom
Spread = Number of characters in the text.
Direction: RandomFor the face color I found a dark gray as a good starting point, I’d then set the Randomize Apply Mode to Add and Subtract.
