We are having small random sections of video jumping out of sync. Usually a couple of seconds duration. We have tried rebooting, trashing prefs, using pointer movies, nesting, un-nesting, starting new projects, etc. We always layoff in full quality, fully rendered.

It just seems to happen occasionally, and now we can’t trust our long format layoffs as these errors can jump in. We weren’t having these problems with Panther and FCP HD.

Our setup: Dual 2.5 G5, OS X 10.4.2, XServe RAIDs, Final Cut Studio (Updated) and Kona2 video I/O (1.1.2 – 1.1.4). This is happening on multiple machines set up identically.

Any suggestions or confirmations would be greatly appreciated.

I think your problems might disappear with FCP 5.0.2 on 10.4.2 and QT 7.0.2… (which is what I’m running today)

That said, I’ve had terrific results running 4.5 systems on Panther… 10.3.8, QT 6.5.2 and FCP 4.5 with my Kona 2 runs very nicely. I’m not convinced that FCP 4.5 on Tiger with QT 7 is reliable at all, but also must admit I’ve not ever really given this combo a go either.
