Random file conversion
One day a bunch of my .c4d R14 files just decided to change to .aec files and reduce themselves to 1kb. Has anyone ever had this happen in the history of Cinema4D? Is there a way to reverse this process. Now cinema says I can’t open the files and dozens of hours of work are lost. Maxon hasn’t responded to any of my inquiries. help.

I’ve never heard of that happening. I don’t see how they could be recovered if your file manager is reporting that they’re 1kb files. No chance you have back ups?

You know I did have backups on a different shared server. I went on there and opened up one of the files and then I saw my file browser quickly rip through that file converting all the backups to .aec – truly a nightmare. Since though it hasn’t happened to any of my other c4d files. It was just some weird freak occurrence. Thanks for responding. I guess this is just a big loss.
