Random Crashes
Hello all,
I am getting frustrrated beyond belief with Aftereffects lately as it is constantly crashing for unknown reasons. I had not added anything and started having these issues.
I have since reinstalled, updated my video card drivers, trahed preferences and regardless of what I try this program constantly crashes on projcts that shouldn’t be taxing the system, or never would have in the past.
This is version CS3, on a Dual Core Quad AMD 2.2 GHX, with a Radeon x1900 Video Card and it is a Pre-built Matrox Axio System.
Here is what it is doing:
1. During Renders it will just crash to the desktop. No error message, nothing. the program just closes, yet it stays in the processes in the task manager. Not in the applications, just the processes tab. These crashes also occur during pre-renders
2. If it doesn’t crash during a render it locks up on a frame. If I try to go to the frame the next time I start the machine it wil crash at that frame. Now here I sometimes get an erro emssage. For example: the last one said Noise Filter Error. Now I assume there is an issue with the Noise effect I added. I don’t get this, this is a standard plug, which leads to my next issue.
3. Once I start getting problems with AE certain filters will crash the system. These are basic filters. I’ve seen Hue/Saturation crash the program.
So, has anyone run into any of these problems. I can’t take it. It’s driving me crazy.
If anyone has seen anything similar please let me know. My next step is clearing all the downladed programs, the entire Adober Suite and the Matrox Axio Setup. And reistalling the 3rd party plugins. If this doesn’t work i don’t know what to do.
Just as an FYI, we do have a bunch of 3rd party plugs but they have never caused an issue until recently. We also have Roxio on the system for disc backup. I have heard osme bad things about Roxio. Can this be affecting it? Or any updates in Juicer 3 ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy.
Thanks.
