    Hi again, Folks!

Can anybody tell me why random clips that are perfectly good over several sessions would suddenly corrupt?

Symptoms: The clips are perfectly workable for a while.
Then Premiere seems to randomly select clips to corrupt.
Meaning – they don’t show video any longer.
Or – more often – Premiere just decides on new trim points.
Or it freeze frames the clip and acts like there’s nothing else there but one frame, (as if it were a jpg).
Or it suddenly makes the clip go slow motion and acts like there are only a few frames there.
Or any combination of the above.

When this happens, the only solution I’ve been able to come up with is to dump the old clip, rename it, reimport it and rework it. 🙁

This can happen with clips I haven’t even touched for several sessions – and, significantly, seem to happen to a random selection of clip(s).

I think I can answer my own post now – for anyone who encounters a similar problem.

I think this happens when you render a project before it’s finished ‘conforming’ all the assets. In other words, in a fit of impatience, you start working on the project while it’s conforming and you render.
