    HI,

I’ve been experiencing this problem since setting up this FCP last summer. Regardless of capturing from an HDV deck (in NTSC DV Anamorphic), a PVW-2800 BetaSP deck, or a DIgital Betacam deck, My FCP will randomly generate ‘audio pops’ throughout evey project. Even worse, it’ll generate ‘artifacts’ randomly as well. I’ll see these on my external display monitor (through a AJA Kona 2 card), or when I print to tape through the same Kona card (regardless of BetaSP or Digibeta deck). What’s worse, I can’t even isolate the problem to the Kona card since I get those same pops and artifacts when creating a quicktime file in FCP.

At this point, we can’t really treat this system as an online suite with all these issues. Any help in identifying the problems would be greatly appreciated.

I’m running FCP 5 on a dual 2.7 G5 with 2GB SDRAM. Aja Kona 2 card for capture / print; HDV deck through firewire; media stored on a HUGE systems 2.5 TB media tower – fibre channel with ATTO Celerity FC-42xs
