RAM, Windows, and PPro Question
I understand with Windows there is a limit of RAM allotted to Premiere @ 2GB or with a change in an .ini file, 3GB.
My question is if I install 4 GB RAM in my ASUS P4C 800 E Deluxe, will Windows allocate 3 GB (with the modified file) and use the other 1 GB for system processes, or is 4 GB simply overkill for this setup?
I currently run 2 GB, but would like to squeeze as much performance as possible out of this machine.

Go for 4gb of RAM (which as a matter of fact should be the published recommendation) and do the /3gb switch. It works like a charm with ppro 2. Nothing works very well with 1.5.
