Alright, this may seem trivial to most of you, however I’ve been doing this for 3 months so please bear with me. For some reason when I try to do a RAM Preview, it doesn’t preview the full composition. Say my composition is 20 seconds…..It will only render out 11 and a half!!!! Can someone please help me???

    the usual issues:
you don’t actually have enough RAM
you are using it too fast because the comp settings are too high
you’re on a newer Mac and AE tends to use RAM really weirdly on the Intels.
you have set beginning and ending markers

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

You could also try purging- go to Edit–> Purge All and then try RAM previews. Sometimes it just gets stuck and you have to purge before it can render on.

Another tactic I employ all the time is instead of typing Numpad 0 to RAM Preview, type Shift-Numpad 0. This will render every other frame so you can preview longer (and quicker.)
