Ram issues upgrade for After Effects.
Hello all, I’m not sure this is a brilliant question, or if It’s even in the right place. I have a compaq 5800 series hp. i have upgraded it to windows 7 PRO. I have 8 gigs of ram installed. I’m having some problems with slowness, lag, and everything else in after effects. I have tried everything else. Basically it’s boiled down to me having to get more ram. So, my question. If I have an OS that supports more ram would my board still read it? Becuase from what I’m gathering this motherboard only supports a maximum of 8 Gigs but I wasn’t sure if that was just because of the original OS or because it simply doesn’t support more than that.

At some point its not RAM its IO and def display card memory.
