    Hi,

I keep geting the below error message whenever i try to ram preview and it is making my life very hard as ram preview wont play, can anyone help please?

After Effects error: RAM Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback.

I do have more than 2 frames, and everything was working fine for a long time before this so i dont think it is anything to do with the power of the computer.

    Any help would be great,
    Thanks,
    Adam

I would recommend restarting AE/your computer if you do in fact have more than 2 frames to render (you don’t have the current time indicator at the end of the comp with ‘from current time’ enabled for RAM preview do you?)

Yep, assuming you’ve set everything correctly, that’s the workaround.

Now … I recall that the error was a holdover from previous versions of AE. Upgrading should fix it, as far as I’ve seen.

I’m using v 8.0.1.8 and still ran into this problem again. May be a memory problem. I had it open with PSD and Illustrator. Restarted AE with no luck. Going to try restarting Mac.

Hi, try going to Edit/Preferences/Memory & Multiprocessing, Go to Multiprocessing and select “LONGER RAM PREVIEW”, I have this problem all the time, even with 8GB of RAM, also you could have some plugin that isnt working, you can copy the plugin to an Adjustment Layer and put it on top of your layer, or just erase the plugin. I hope this works…
