    Hi folks

I’m running a G5 with 4Gb of RAM. My After Effects (6.5) seems to only be using 60% of 2047Mb. Anyone tell me how to increase the amount of RAM that AE uses?

You can change the amount of RAM that AE uses in the preferences.

However, there are limits on how much RAM an individual application can access. With AE 6.5, the limit is where you’re at- 2 GB. AE7 can access up to 4 GB, but due to limitations of Mac OS the actual amount used is more like 3 GB.

    Thanks for that Timothy,

    Guess I’ll need to upgrade!
