Rain particles turn into an image?
Posted by David Del on August 31, 2006 at 7:15 pmI want to turn the Rain particle emitter into an image, so that the rain coming down fills in the image until it is complete. Is this possible?

September 1, 2006 at 3:15 amI’m not sure if this is what you mean, but here’s an example file you can play around with.
I’ve got a background image on the layer that’s hidden, and then a rain emitter with Get Color from Layer checked in its color options so that each particle reveals some of the hidden background image. Then in the Project Settings, I checked Don’t Erase so that the rain drops reveal streaks of the image that stay on screen.

September 1, 2006 at 12:40 pmThis is a sample from an older demo reel intro that may be what you’re looking for. It’s actually 2 sample files — in one the particles fly up, and in one they fly down. Use the fly up example, then reverse the frames in your video editing proram to make it seem like the particles are forming the words.
If you change the bg image, you’ll have to resize the emitters.

Only works in 3.0, not SE.

September 3, 2006 at 8:31 amWhat version of pI are you using? If you’re using 3, you may need to install the latest update from the downloads page to open the projects.
