Hi guys I have a question, can anyone tell me how to make raindrops appear as if they are in 3D space..I tried using particular but the custom particle is a still picture so its not very convincing yet it could work but my main question is the operation of the camera angles so as to have almost 360 view while it/they drop/s(also the look as if it fell from the sky). Also if you have some tips for me as to how to create a moer convincing particles let me know, or any free footage of raindrops :)..
btw I used trapcode particular and not praticle illusion.
    Thanks !!!!

CC Rain works fine for most of us.
The trick is to use three or more copies with dramatically different parameters. One or more copies must be masked by the images to carry a true illusion of 3D. Very tedious.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

[spikeyjohn] “the custom particle is a still picture”

The custom setting for particles uses a layer as the particle. If the layer is animated then the particle will be animated.

Perhaps I should have been more clear why i said raindrops and not rain, cc rain makes a great rain and its easy. The rain drops I want to create are similar to Pierre Michel’s promo video(link at the end), I talked to him last night and he said he shot the rain itself and then use particles to use it as custom layer but the angles thats what im really interested in..sorry for being a little bit discreet and maybe I ask too many questions haha..Thanks for your replies nonetheless, Im going to try each and every one of them.
here is the link to his promo video.
